About The Position
The Nursery School After-School Counselor plays a vital role in the development and safety of children attending the 92NY After-School program. This position involves picking up children from their Nursery Classrooms and escorting them to various enrichment activities. The Counselor is responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive and engage in educational and recreational experiences. The program runs from September 30, 2024, to May 15, 2025, with work hours scheduled from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM each day. In this role, the Counselor will supervise children daily, providing support and assistance while respecting their privacy and individuality. It is essential to foster an environment that encourages meaningful engagement in activities. The Counselor will also be responsible for the health, safety, and overall well-being of the children during their time in the enrichment classes. Regular communication with the Program Director is crucial to address any observations or concerns regarding the needs and challenges faced by individual children. Additionally, the Counselor will participate in a staff orientation program and must familiarize themselves with the policies outlined in the Nursery School After-School Staff manual. Compliance with all rules and regulations, including dress code and emergency procedures, is mandatory to ensure a safe and effective program.
