About The Position

This position is for a professional nurse within the Federal service, requiring a graduate or higher level degree from an accredited nursing educational program. The role involves providing nursing care, assessing patient needs, and implementing life-saving procedures in emergency situations. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position, including volunteer work and part-time experience. Requirements

• A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
• Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
• Passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
• Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in professional nursing.
• Experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care principles, practices, and procedures required to assess the needs of patients.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms which are not always apparent and react promptly in emergency situations.
• Implement life-saving procedures.
• Provide counseling, guidance, and health instruction to patients.
• Identify disease entities to recognize complications and therapeutic interventions required.
