About The Position

NHC is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager who will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. This position involves working closely with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure accurate patient assessments and the development and revision of individualized care plans. The Nurse Unit Manager will maintain open communication with patients and their families, encouraging their participation in decision-making processes. This role also includes supervising and coaching nursing staff, assisting with medications and treatments, and participating in various meetings. The Nurse Unit Manager will perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Tennessee Nursing (RN/LPN) license.
• Preferred of 2 years of nursing experience with geriatric patients.
• Exhibits leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Working with the interdisciplinary care team to assure accurate patient assessment and development/revision of individualized plans of care.
• Maintaining open and ongoing communication with patients and families, providing opportunity and encouragement to participate in decision making.
• Assuring that appropriate nursing care is provided.
• Assisting with medications and treatments.
• Supervising and coaching nurses and other nursing partners.
• Participating in various meetings daily and monthly.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
