The Nurse Trainee provides safe, basic nursing care for patients and families functioning under the direct supervision of the RN in the acute hospital or clinic setting. Direct supervision means RN coordinates, directs, and inspects at first hand the care provided by the nurse trainee. The nurse trainee cannot independently assume duties done by an RN. The nurse trainee will focus on the health and wellness of the patient while providing safe, essential nursing care for patients and families with the primary goal of preparing for entry into professional practice and focusing on learning opportunities related to basic functions of the RN role.

Requirements

  • Enrollment or recent graduation from an associate nursing program or baccalaureate nursing program
  • Registered Nurse license must be obtained within 120 days of hire date
