About The Position

5 Sutherland Tower is a general medical/surgical unit that cares for patients with renal failure and transplant, rehabilitation and liver failure and transplant specialties. Patients range in age from neonates to 18 years. We occasionally treat young adults and adult kidney donors who donate to child having a renal transplant. Primary diagnostic groups: renal, rehab, LIFT, general med/surg. Procedures and treatments: peritoneal dialysis monitoring, PICC placement by vascular access, inpatient rehab therapies.
The Nurse Tech performs a variety of clinical and clerical tasks as directed by the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. Demonstrates commitment to providing safe and effective care.

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalent Completion of one semester/clinical rotation and current enrollment in or completion of an accredited RN or LPN education program within the last 2 years.
• No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Experience as an assistive patient care provider.
• BLS certification Required Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Performs Unit Secretary-clerical functions/tasks.
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
