About The Position

The Nurse Technician provides patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, implementing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards to enhance patient functional status. This part-time role involves working variable shifts, including weekends, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of a relevant training program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of the Saint Francis Hospital Nurse Technician Training Program or a Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
• CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 0 - 6 months of related experience preferred.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
• Detail-oriented for accurate documentation of numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients, utilizing basic skills and knowledge.
• Performs procedural tasks and assists with activities of daily living (ADL), considering patient's age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
• Observes and reports patient's condition, activities, and needs to licensed nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates specialty skills and knowledge appropriate to patient population.
• Correctly performs technical procedures as delegated by the Licensed Nurse.
• Documents data according to unit/hospital policy, including treatments or procedures performed.
• Records intake and output, vital signs, and other data promptly.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.
• Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit educational standards.
• Accurately completes variance reports and modifies behaviors to comply with care standards.
• Performs environmental activities to maintain a clean and orderly patient room/unit.
• Completes assigned unit duties and performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Transports patients, food, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
