About the unit Big Rapids Family Birthing Center offers unique, family-centered maternity care. We have 11 patient rooms that are private and cozy offering a homelike setting. Scope of work Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
• Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
• Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
• Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
