About the unit This unit is a 13-bed Med Surg unit with overflow into ICU. Stroke Certified. We treat our patients as our own family. Regionals also give you the opportunity to have flexibility with your schedule. Nurse to patient ratio 1:5 for days, up to 1:6 on nights. The staff here give their best daily to deliver quality care to our community Scope of work The Nursing Technician role is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication and teamwork skills, regardless of the department you are working in. This is a direct patient care role, and duties will include Taking Vitals, Checking Blood Sugar, Wound Care, Bed bathing, Toileting, Ambulating, Catheterization, and acting as safety attendant for patients as needed. Additionally, you could be involved in Postmortem care. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
  • Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
