Wayne is a 53-bed, level 3 trauma center serving the cities of Wayne/Westland, and the surrounding area as well as Detroit Metro Airport. There are approximately 35,000 visits annually. We care for a variety of patients of all ages who are acute or chronically ill; approximately 30% of patient arrivals are via ambulance. Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney failure. Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients.
