About The Position
Gerber ICU is 11 beds, 2 of those are observation beds, 9 are inpatient beds. The ICU is going to be refreshed with new paint, flooring, and artwork. It is a mixed unit, so Med/Surg and ICU patients are both present. We offer telemedicine services in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, wound, and VICU. Coming soon to Gerber is telemedical palliative care services. We have MRI services 6 days a week, CT, fluoroscopy, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery, care management, medical social workers all on site. Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Taking vitals
- Checking blood sugars
- Bed bathing
- Ambulating
- Wound care
- Catheterization
- Acting as a safety attendant for patients
- Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel
- Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior
- Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data
