About The Position

About the unit The Emergency Unit has 18 beds. It is a level 3 trauma center with a variety of both adult and pediatric patients. We are primary stroke certified and a bariatric center of excellence. Scope of work Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days

Responsibilities

• taking vitals
• checking blood sugars
• bed bathing
• ambulating
• wound care
• catheterization
• acting as a safety attendant for patients
• Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
• Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
• Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
