About The Position

About the unit Big Rapids Emergency Department is a community-based hospital that is part of the Corewell Healthcare System. The Big Rapids ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. There are 20 places to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. Scope of work As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you'll be performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating those observations to the other members of the team. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. This is a direct patient care role, and duties will include Taking Vitals, Checking Blood Sugar, Wound Care, Bed bathing, Toileting, Ambulating, Catheterization, and acting as safety attendant for patients as needed. Additionally, you could be involved in Postmortem care, doing EKGs, changing over rooms/sanitizing. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• Experience in direct patient care is preferred
