About The Position

About this unit The Blodgett Emergency Department is a certified Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, and Geriatric Emergency Department (Level 2), There are over 30 care spaces to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. The Blodgett ED has over 43,000 visits a year and ranks highly in patient experience and exceeds throughput measures compared to the national average. We provide patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical and specialty care, achieving high rates of patient satisfaction. Scope of work Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.  Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.  Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Hight School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • <1 year of inpatient, EMT or Emergency patient care Preferred
