About The Position

Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the operation of the assigned clinical area on a daily basis. Oversees the delivery of professional nursing services which will address the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, developmental, and age-appropriate needs for each individual patient/family. Requirements

  • Graduate from a school of nursing.
  • 3 or more years Clinical nursing experience.
  • Advanced training and experience in specialty.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing with eligibility to work in the state of MO.

  • Recent supervisor experience.

  • Critical Care experience.

  • CNA (Nursing Administration)

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and selects potential candidates for open positions, ensures training/orientation, evaluates competency, and intervenes/counsels staff when necessary
  • Participates in the creation of the departmental schedule and communicates appropriately
  • Participates in inter- and intra-departmental meetings, committees, and other activities within Liberty Hospital
  • Demonstrates fiscal and operational responsibility through payroll and timecard maintenance
  • Assists Director in annual budget development, budget variance analysis, etc.
  • Promotes positive customer relations and effective communications with job contacts
  • Develops and implements unit-based and Department of Nursing guidelines, structure standards, standards of care, goals, and quality performance activities
  • Acts as a resource for staff and provides environment to motivate staff to optimum potential
  • Functions as a staff nurse in the department, as needed
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
