About The Position

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics has an amazing leadership opportunity for a Labor & Delivery experienced nurse who is ready to make the move into leadership. In this vital role, you will partner with the manager, providers and staff to deliver excellence in quality and patient safety. You will assist with daily operational oversight of the department to ensure the unit is meeting their performance goals on a daily basis. Overlake's State-of the-Art Childbirth Center is a Level 3, traditional L&D unit, with 3 ORs, OB Emergency Department, 12 private labor, delivery, and recovery suites with bedside newborn admits, delivering an average of 3,600 babies per year. We have dedicated antepartum rooms and services, 24/7 in-house anesthesia and OB hospitalists, and wireless monitoring for patient mobility. The Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who provides supervisory and support functions for the unit under the direction and guidance of the Manager. Responsible for supervising efficient, professional, customer-focused patient care activities to include direct supervision of clinical staff and Charge Nurses. Monitors patient acuity, productivity and premium hour variances. Actively participates in quality activities. Performs and directs other duties necessary for daily operations. Focuses on delivery of high level, autonomous professional practice. This position is expected to be comprised of supervisory activities with occasional clinical support as necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing required.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington required.
  • Healthcare provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, NRP certifications and Fetal Monitoring education.
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in hospital setting required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5 years L&D experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 yrs primary charge experience preferred
