About The Position

The Nurse Staff Float position is a vital role within our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various departments. This position requires flexibility and adaptability, as the nurse will float between different units based on staffing needs, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and care they require. The primary goal is to maintain a consistent level of care and support for patients, regardless of the department. The Nurse Staff Float will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and monitor patient progress. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare services, enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
• At least one year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in multiple nursing specialties, such as critical care, pediatrics, or geriatrics.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Previous experience in a float pool or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in various departments, including but not limited to medical-surgical, pediatrics, and emergency care.
• Assess patient conditions, document observations, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and departmental policies.
