About The Position

The Nurse Staff Float position is a vital role within our Health Care Services team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various departments. This position requires flexibility and adaptability, as the nurse will float between different units based on staffing needs, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and care they require. The major end result of this role is to maintain a consistent level of care and support for patients, regardless of the department they are in. The Nurse Staff Float will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and monitor patient progress. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare services, enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
  • At least one year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multiple nursing specialties, such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or critical care.

  • Previous experience in a float nursing role or similar position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Float between various departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new protocols and procedures.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Participate in patient education and support initiatives to promote health and wellness.
