The Nurse Specialist for Ambulatory Infusion works with our chemotherapy and medical infusion clinics, both on BIDMC's main campus and around the greater Boston area. Working closely with Nursing Leaders and clinic management, goal of this position is to provide needed consistency and support across our various infusion clinics. The Nurse Specialist provides key support to each clinic, including but not limited to: onboarding, competency assessments, and staff education. This position is ideal for an experience Infusion or Hematology/Oncology Nurse looking to share their skills and make a broad, tangible impact on BIDMC and the communities we serve! This position is full time 40 hours per week; day shifts. While the position is based on BIDMC's main campus, interested candidates should be comfortable occasionally visiting our off-site clinics in Cambridge, Winchester, Needham, and Peabody. The BIDMC Nursing Mission is to build on a legacy of nursing excellence by caring with compassion, advancing the art & science of nursing, and advocating for the health of patients, families, and communities. The Nurse Specialist (T1) acts as a clinical leader with the primary goal of continuous improvement of patient outcomes and safe nursing practice. Partners with the Nursing Director in leading the professional practice at BIDMC. Maintains current professional knowledge/competencies and contributes to the advancement of nursing practice at the unit, system, local, and/or national level. Training, evaluation and competencies for this role are overseen by a Nurse Leader to the department.
