Department Nursing Research Job Summary Under general supervision the Nursing Research Scientist II will promote, support, and facilitate individuals engaging in research activities to advance evidence-based practice, the conduct of research, translation of research into practice, and the dissemination of research results. Conduct a clinical research needs assessment as indicated. Use results to construct a strategic plan to develop clinical research for nursing and other disciplines, aligned with the strategic mission and goals of the hospital. Provide leadership for research and evidence-based practice education to clinical staff, including both formal classes and informal sessions. Provide leadership for the planning and coordination of the research seminars. Identify opportunities and applies for research funding. Also assist departments and individual health care professionals to apply and obtain funding for research projects and activities. Foster the development of a practice environment conducive to the conduct of research and evidence-based practice. Participate in or lead collaborative multidisciplinary research and EBP projects. Mentor nurses and other health care professionals in the dissemination of research and EBP projects through poster presentations, podium presentations, state and national conferences.
