About The Position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Nurse, Rutgers Summer Arts Institute for Mason Gross School of Arts. This position is responsible for receiving and reviewing all required student health forms prior to the start of our summer program for middle and high school students. The Nurse acts as our on site medical professional to provide care for children ages 12-18 throughout a series of residential and commuter arts summer intensives. The Summer Arts Institute program preparation begins in May 2026 with sessions running on campus for 4 weeks in July 2026. Mason Gross School of the Arts is a vibrant community of artists and scholars committed to pursuing excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary health care professional to students ages 12 through 18.
  • Administers general First Aid.
  • Provides approved prescription medication to students as necessary
  • Assesses and treats physical injuries.
  • Responds to emergency injuries that may arise during the days/nights/weekends.
  • Provides communication about health relative to the student with parents and interact extensively with the students, their families, faculty, and staff to provide the highest quality health care possible.
  • Enforces policies and guidelines from Rutgers Community Arts, Mason Gross School of the Arts and Rutgers University.
  • Collects, maintains, and reviews all medical and health related forms from the student.
  • Determines first aid supplies and dietary needs to prepare for summer programs.
  • Works to efficiently and effectively arise to other duties as assigned.
