As a Nurse - RN, you will: Assist multidisciplinary team with crisis intervention, psychiatric medical assessments, case management, and medication support services. Consult with prescriber for medication orders and guidance/recommendations for the treatment of medical and psychiatric conditions. Administer medications as ordered by the prescriber. Monitor client's physical and psychiatric condition and response to treatment and/or medication. Report client's responses to the prescriber. Maintain inventory, storage and handling of medication including Patient Assistance Program (PAP) medications and/or sample medications according to Medi-Cal and all overseeing agency's guidelines. Ensure all medications are managed and stored appropriately as defined by local and state regulations. Complete and sign all required medical/nursing documents using the County designated electronic health record (EHR). Provide health education and medication instructions to clients, family members, staff and other support personnel. Identify acute or potential health problems and coordinate care with the appropriate provider and/or level of care for treatment. Our Crisis Centers are Short Term Acute Residential Treatment (START) programs (Del Sur Crisis Center, Esperanza Crisis Center, Halcyon Crisis Center, Jary Barreto Crisis Center, New Vistas Crisis Center, Turning Point Crisis Center and Vista Balboa Crisis Center) that provide intensive, community-based crisis residential services for adults throughout San Diego County. They deliver a unique alternative to psychiatric hospitalization to clients who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis of such magnitude so as not to be manageable on an outpatient basis. Their services are provided in a home-like environment that specializes in the psychosocial rehabilitation of each individual.   • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required and must be kept current and in good standing during employment
  • BLS certification required and must be kept current during employment
  • Ability to assist in emergency situations, physically and mentally, is required
  • A valid California driver's license in good standing and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. In addition, proof of insurance is required prior to driving personal vehicles on company business.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to document concurrently and/or collaboratively.
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred
