About The Position

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager, provides nursing care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients. Must demonstrate competency to perform technical nursing functions; and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse in caring for patients. The Registered Nurse is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned.

Requirements

• Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
• Familiar with patient care equipment.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for Code blue Team (626003) and within six (6) months for SICU (630400).
• PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for Code Blue Team (626003) and SICU (630400).
• Effective July 1, 2018, NRP is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for Code Blue Team (626003). Existing employees are required to have NRP by December 31, 2018. Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
• 1-2 years - Critical care/ICU registered nurse experience OR completion of the UF Health Jacksonville Critical Care Fellowship Program.

Nice To Haves

• Two plus (2+) years of Critical care/ICU registered nurse experience.
