About The Position

The Nurse (RN / LPN) position at BrookHaven Retirement Community involves supervising nursing care to residents according to physician's orders, directing staff, and ensuring the delivery of quality care during the 3rd shift. Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse with the State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Function within scope of practice according to the State Board of Nursing.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician.
• Follow BrookHaven policy and procedures.
• Meet job-related competencies for LPN and/or Registered Nurse as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual.
• Accurately and timely complete documentation of care given.
• Supervise, evaluate, and may suspend personnel according to BrookHaven policy.
• Refer to and follow resident's care plan.
• Observe and report any abnormal findings, such as injuries, incidents, skin issues, complaints, suspected abuse/neglect/misappropriation, and any unsafe conditions as well as any significant change in condition.
• Oversee operation and staffing for their shift.
• Attend required in-service education.
• Follow appropriate Infection Control and Safety Practices.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Assume responsibility for maintaining professional competence.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
