At Wellstar, the mission is to enhance the health and well-being of every person served. Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a Nurse Professional Development Educator (RN) - ICU Critical Care. This Clinical Nurse Professional Development Educator (NPD) collaborates to assess, identify, plan, implement, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate educational activities using a systems model. This role applies the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve healthcare practice of learners, based on the Association of Nurse Professional Development (ANPD) Practice Model. Leveraging expertise in education and professional development, the Clinical NPD works with staff, leadership, faculty, and researchers to implement and evaluate professional development programs. These programs aim to enhance professional role competence, foster continuous learning and growth, promote synergistic practices and patient outcomes throughout the organization, and advance NPD practice in line with Wellstar's Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANPD Scope and Standards. Key roles include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for the Nurse Professional Development specialty, and partner for practice transitions. The Clinical Nursing Professional Development Educator supports the Clinical Nursing Professional Development Educator Specialist, clinical manager, and interprofessional team in implementing, documenting, and modifying evidence-based, quality, and educational programs and activities to promote professional competency and role performance for nursing and non-licensed staff. The NPD Practitioner also contributes to patient care as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring individualized, high-quality, safe patient care for patients, families, and significant others. They operate in a clinical environment in a functional capacity. All NPD Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold nursing practice as defined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, adhering to the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards from the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, the individual is expected to advocate for the patient, follow system policies and procedures, and support service excellence goals.
