About the position

Baystate Health, the premier healthcare provider in western Massachusetts, is excited to announce openings for new graduate Registered Nurses (RNs) in our Nurse Residency Program. This program is designed for nurses with less than one year of experience and aims to provide a comprehensive and supportive transition into clinical practice. Over the course of ten months, participants will engage in a diverse and engaging curriculum that includes a thorough unit-based orientation and access to professional pathways tailored specifically for nurse residents. The overarching goal of the Nurse Residency Program is to foster professional development within the nursing field, ensuring that our new nurses are well-prepared to deliver high-quality patient care. The Nurse Residency Program is structured to provide multiple layers of support at various levels, including unit, program, organization, and system levels. This support is crucial in developing successful, competent, and valued nurses who are equipped to thrive in their roles. Our current openings are in the Neurosciences - Brain and Spine Unit, which is part of a 37-bed neuro-acute and 9-bed neuro-intercare department. This unit provides comprehensive care for complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, brain injuries, spinal injuries, and tumors. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Nurse Residency Program for professional development.

Requirements

  • Successfully passed the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
  • Education: ADN required.
  • Resume required with application, cover letter preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Diploma in Nursing preferred.
