About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. The 32-bed intermediate-care cardiac unit on Klarman 8 has a primary focus on advanced heart failure therapies. We seek candidates interested in advancing their nursing practice by supporting the complex needs of this patient population. Our nurses receive extensive training through staged workshops provided throughout the first year of hire and annually after that to ensure continued competency. The Klarman 8 nursing staff collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to develop comprehensive patient-centered treatment plans that produce excellent outcomes. Teamwork and professional development are supported by KM8's leadership team, which includes a Nursing Director, Medical Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Unit Based Educator, and two Clinical Advisors. The patient population consists of decompensated heart failure, complex arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and post-procedural patients, including structural heart procedures, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), electrophysiology procedures, etc. In addition, KM8 is the designated inpatient unit for patients requiring advanced modalities such as inotropic medications, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), pulmonary artery catheters, and pericardial drains. In spring 2023, the unit moved into a new inpatient building, a state-of-the-art patient care environment. The spectacular new space is designed to optimize the experience for patients and providers and includes a rooftop healing garden for patients, families, and caregivers.
