Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited nursing school
  • Master’s Degree required (MSN, or M.Ed.)
  • If enrolled in MSN or M.Ed. program, must complete degree within one year of start date
  • Florida Registered Nurse License required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Minimum of 3 years Acute Care nursing experience
  • Must have worked in an acute care RN role within last 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • Nationally Recognized Certifications in Nursing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Division Director of Clinical Education, the Transition to Practice Clinical Educator serves as a mentor, instructor, and role model for clinical staff.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator provides opportunities to recently licensed nurses, which enhance critical thinking, reinforce basic nursing skills, instill confidence, and promote safe, quality nursing practice.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator will create and deliver didactic content, provide simulated experiences, and coordinate and lead Transition to Practice (TTP) monthly meetings to support the first year of nursing practice.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator will monitor TTP nurse progress during orientation as well as monitor recent graduate nurses NCLEX test status as they prepare to enter the TTP program.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator will also collect and report data, which reflects the program’s success and provides feedback to guide program revisions.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator works collaboratively with the entire Clinical Education team, Human Resources Team, and clinical leaders to provide a comprehensive program.
  • The Transition to Practice Clinical Educator serves UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, Leesburg Hospital, and UF Health Freestanding Emergency Departments.
  • This position demands independence in the role to create and manage projects, as well as adherence to department leadership requisites.
