About The Position

The Nurse Residency Program at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is designed to support new nurse graduates as they transition into their roles as Registered Nurses. This year-long program includes an extended preceptorship, seminars focused on critical thinking and professional development, and opportunities for mentorship and skill-building, fostering a strong connection to the hospital culture and their peers.

Requirements

  • Graduated or soon to graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, ADN, Diploma, or Accelerated).
  • Less than a year of employment as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN prior to the start date.
  • Current unencumbered Compact RN License valid in Wyoming.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in acute care or specialty settings.
  • Interest in evidence-based practice and patient care improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a paid one-to-one preceptor orientation experience on the clinical unit.
  • Attend specialty training sessions in various formats including classroom, skills lab, and simulation lab.
  • Engage in paid Nurse Residency sessions led by subject matter experts.
  • Complete an evidence-based learning project to improve patient care and nursing practice.
  • Attend 100% of all Nurse Residency Program classes and activities for the duration of the program.
