About The Position

The Nurse Residency Program at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is designed for new graduate nurses and lasts for 10 months. The program covers essential topics such as delegating appropriately, communicating clearly and professionally, prioritizing care and managing time, recognizing acute changes in patient condition, using resources effectively, implementing best practices, setting professional goals, and self-care. The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit that provides care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. The PCU operates 24/7/365 with 25 beds and collaborates with various healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Commitment to professional growth through continuing education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide respectful care considering patients' cultural diversity, age, gender, and lifestyle choices.
  • BLS healthcare provider certification.
  • Valid RN License.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 10-month residency program covering essential nursing topics.
  • Provide care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
