About The Position

The Quality Improvement & Infection Control Nurse at the Department of Justice plays a crucial role in managing infection prevention and control programs within a federal correctional facility. This position focuses on improving healthcare outcomes through quality improvement activities, surveillance of infections, and education related to infection control practices. The nurse will work under the guidance of the national Infection Prevention and Control Officer and is responsible for maintaining the security of the institution while performing nursing duties.

Requirements

• A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory.
• At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level.
• Experience in an infection control program, including prevention of exposure to infectious diseases and administration of vaccinations.

Responsibilities
