About The Position

University Health Partners of Hawaii is the Faculty Practice of the John A Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). In conjunction with State of Hawaii’s Department of Health – Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, JABSOM and UHP are expanding Hawaii UTelehealth (HUT) to provide access to no-cost addiction medicine treatment for the State of Hawaii. Our new Telehealth Addiction Medicine program is founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to recovery. We aim to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-judgmental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), meeting them wherever they are in their journey. We are seeking a passionate and visionary leader to build and guide this vital program. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Program Manager to lead our innovative, fully-remote Addiction Medicine program. This role is a unique blend of clinical leadership, program management, and hands-on patient care coordination. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with a strong background in addiction medicine and/or behavioral health, coupled with proven leadership skills and a passion for leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes. The Nurse Program Manager will be responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the program, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, evidence-based care in a virtual environment.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Hawaii.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, or psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, or program coordination role.
  • High level of technological proficiency, including experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs), telehealth platforms, and secure communication tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a related field (e.g., MPH, MHA).
  • Certification as a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) or Certified Addictions Registered Nurse-Advanced Practice (CARN−AP).
  • Experience in new program development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical services in a telehealth or virtual environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Telehealth Addiction Medicine program.
  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight of the program.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional, evidence-based care in a virtual environment.
  • Coordinate patient care and manage program operations.
