The Nurse Program Coordinator coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives specified to the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations or other specifications. This job is intended for positions with incumbents that have responsibility for a particular program. A program provides a specific service or carries out specific activities as a component program within a department.

  • Coordinate activities and functions of a designated program.
  • Ensure that goals and objectives of the program are accomplished.
  • Organize and plan work with input from patients/families or other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate use of sound clinical judgment and resources.
  • Supervise assigned subordinates if applicable.
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
  • AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • At least one (1) year in a progressive leadership or supervisory role.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Previous experience in staff education and professional development.
  • Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
  • Completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification in specialty area.
