About the position
The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner at Healing Partners is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating healthcare for residents and employees in long-term care settings. This role focuses on treating chronic and acute wound-related illnesses, performing bedside procedures, and collaborating with medical directors to enhance patient care. The position offers a competitive salary and a Monday to Friday schedule with no nights or weekends, promoting an excellent work/life balance.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and evaluate resident and employee health care in long-term care.
- Examine and treat chronic and acute episodic wound-related illnesses and accidents.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and recommend appropriate follow-up.
- Refer to and update physicians, write prescriptions, and perform bedside procedures associated with wound care.
- Work with the medical director in the care and treatment of residents and staff.
- Perform debridement of wounds using various methods safely at the patient visit.
- Manage topical wound care and associated wound management products.
- Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on current wound management practices.
Requirements
- Valid RN License in the state.
- Current Active, unrestricted state APRN license or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Current approval by the Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
