About the position

The Nurse Practitioner at Providence Medical Group is responsible for providing primary or acute healthcare services to patients with various health conditions. This role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, focusing on long-term wellness and building lasting relationships with patients. The Nurse Practitioner will work within a collaborative environment, adhering to the organization's mission and standards of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including the use of prescriptive authority and referrals to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Promote age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Convey information effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential situations with a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Practice within the guidelines of a Standard Care Arrangement with collaborating physician(s).
  • Ensure compliance with Organizational Integrity by raising questions and reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice.
  • State licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), and/or other designation as required by law.
  • Minimum of three years recent and relevant NP experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a multi-specialty medical group setting.
  • Familiarity with Patient-Centered Medical Home practices.
