Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
We are seeking Nurse Practitioners to partner with us as independent contractors, providing health readiness services to Military Service members under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) in the State of VA. Services are primarily provided on weekends, with occasional weekdays, on an "as needed basis". The role involves meeting the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for various U.S. Reserve and National Guard branches, including the U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard, U.S. Navy Reserve, U.S. Marine Forces Reserve, U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, Air National Guard, and U.S. Air Force Reserve. DOCS Health is a trusted industry leader with over three decades of experience, dedicated to setting a new standard of care delivery through fixed-clinic, mobile treatment center, telemedicine, and portable deployment models.
Requirements
- Active NP license in the state
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily
- Able to work extended hours
- Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health
- Experience with mobile medical services
- Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology
- Able to travel, with weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Support Physical Health Assessments of military personnel
- Review health history, service member medical records, and medical questionnaires
- Interview military personnel to determine current and prior medical concerns
- Identify any concerns that need to be addressed immediately, inclusive of Behavioral Health
- Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member’s medical record using the proprietary system
