Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • State of Texas Board of Nursing Certification licensure as a Registered Nurse and recognition as an Advanced Practice Nurse. ANCC or AANP.
  • BLS (CPR) Certified.
  • Must go through the credentialing process and be approved.
  • Prescriptive Authorization.
  • Works under the Collaborating Physician.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, observations, and medical history reviews
  • Documents patient histories, symptoms, care plans, and updates records in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Develops, implements, and modifies patient care and treatment plans based on clinical findings
  • Orders, administers, and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., blood work, X-rays, scans)
  • Monitors, operates, and maintains medical equipment; ensures quality control and safety standards
  • Identifies changes in patient condition and adjusts treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Communicates diagnoses, test results, and treatment plans to patients and families with strong bedside manner
  • Educates patients and families on disease management, prevention, and post-care instructions
  • Refers patients to specialists and reviews medical records and reports as needed
  • Utilizes medical software systems, including EHR, billing, scheduling, telemedicine, research, and e-prescribing platforms
  • Ensures daily and weekly environmental cleaning, equipment maintenance, and compliance with healthcare protocols
