About The Position

CareArc is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for patients’ injuries, diseases, and disorders which commonly occur in the general population. As a member of the Medical Health team the Nurse Practitioner will: triage, diagnose and manage patients with health problems; conduct medical evaluations and prescribe treatment; provide support and assistance to other primary care clinicians and their patients. The Nurse Practitioner may refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment and may participate in developing programs to address medical issues within the facility and community.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribes, directs, or administers treatment, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
  • Orders, performs and interprets tests and analyzes records, reports and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.
  • Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections or injuries.
  • Diagnoses or treats complex, unstable, co-morbid, episodic or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.
  • Performs primary care procedures such as suturing, splinting, administering immunizations, taking cultures and debriding wounds.
  • Orders, performs or interprets the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs) and radiographs (x-rays).
  • Designs individualized care plans using a variety of treatments.
  • Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety and cost as legally authorized.
  • Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications or herbal remedies.
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults.
  • Performs routine or annual physical examinations.
  • Consults with or refers patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.
  • Participates in activities aimed at professional growth and development including conferences or continuing education activities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations for nurse practitioner practice including reimbursement of services.
  • Participates in daily team huddles.
  • Participates in quality assurance initiatives.
