Principal Duties and Responsibilities1. Provides direct patient care, including gynecologic, contraceptive, prenatal, and postpartum services and related education. Maintains a caseload of gynecological patients, following department protocols for standards of care.2. Consults with and/or refers to a physician as appropriate in the management of complicated or high-risk clients. 3. Participates in the teaching of medical, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students.4. Meets, or exceeds, the continuing education requirements for the profession.5. Participates in quality assurance activities.6. Assists in the development and maintenance of patient education materials.7. Is accountable clinically to the supervising physician and administratively to the Women's Health Service (WHS) Coordinator.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1. Appropriate current registration and/or licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.2. Current certification by a professional accrediting body.3. Ability to diagnose and manage medical conditions, consistent with departmental standards of care. 4. Experience working with ambulatory obstetric and gynecological patients, or equivalent clinical internship or work experience.5. Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with patients, providers, and staff6. Commitment to patient education, advocacy, and autonomy7. Maturity and ability to work independently while fully respecting the limits of the nonphysician role8. Commitment to personal safety and to that of coworkers and patients as demonstrated by adherence to OSHA standards. Requirements

  • Appropriate current registration and/or licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current certification by a professional accrediting body.
