The Allergy and Immunology Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) provides specialized, patient-centered care for individuals with environmental, drug, and food allergies, as well as immunologic conditions. Our team diagnoses and manages conditions including environmental allergies, food allergies, asthma, dermatitis, chronic urticaria, sinus disease, drug allergies, and immunodeficiency disorders using evidence-based clinical practices. The clinic offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services, including skin and blood allergy testing, spirometry, allergen immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and specialized desensitization programs. Care is delivered in a supportive outpatient setting by an interdisciplinary team that works collaboratively to ensure safe, high-quality patient care with a strong emphasis on education, prevention, and long-term disease management. Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Requirements

• Master's Degree Nursing required
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, MA
• 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience
• 1-2 years required
• Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
