About the Childrens Healthcare Center Our Childrens Healthcare Center provides care for medically fragile and/or technology-dependent children, ages newborn through 21 years. Most children are admitted from a hospital NICU or PICU. This program focuses on patients who no longer require acute care, but who need significant medical attention related to wound therapy, PICC antibiotics, post-surgical care, NG, GJ tube feedings, and ventilator care. The Center is a home away from home for medically fragile children and their families. About the Nurse Practitioner Position Provides support to the staff by following up on all clinic, hospital, and therapeutic visits and facilitating communication about all orders. Monitors all patient equipment to assure proper setting and compliance with all MD orders. Demonstrates clinical problem solving and critical thinking skills necessary to assure patient safety and staff support. Assists the Director of Nursing in supervising the unit to improve performance, productivity, and safety as it relates to patient care, durable medical equipment, unit supplies, and staff management.
