About The Position

We are currently searching for a Nurse Practitioner. The purpose of this position is to provide direct medical care and treatment for individuals enrolled in human subjects’ research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program. This is a full-time opportunity located in Baltimore, MD. Provide clinical coverage of clinical and research procedures and promote the safety of patients over time. Enter medical orders and review lab and other diagnostic tests and laboratory studies test results for normal and abnormal findings with guidance from a physician or collaboration with other staff. Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary research team to ensure that patient management strategies are successful in meeting patient care and research needs. Perform intake and preliminary evaluation of potential subjects through e-Interviewing, review of medical records, completion of safety screening, consultation with treating professionals, and with medical staff. Screen healthy subjects and patients and interview subjects to obtain social and medical history and medication history.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current State Accreditation in Nursing
  • 1+ years of experience in Medical, Health, Clinical, and/or Clinical Research experience
  • Skilled in good clinical practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred
  • Preferred prior experience working with NIH or HHS entities
  • Current National and State Accreditation in Nursing
