About The Position

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center adult service line is looking for a nurse practitioner to provide outpatient services for individuals 18 years of age or older for the North East Drive, located in Hershey, PA. The program is currently looking to recruit a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-CRNP) for an open full-time position. Our ideal candidate will be Pennsylvania licensed and have 2-3 years of experience providing psychiatric care. General duties of the outpatient aspect of the position will include evaluations, medication management, and interaction with clinical and physician staff. Requires 1-3 years of experience working with the chronically mentally ill and experience with a broad spectrum of diagnosis and medication management. The NP functions as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provides a wide range of patient services to a specific patient population across the continuum of healthcare. By utilizing the nursing process, scientific reasoning, and critical problem-solving, NPs practice within the scope of responsibilities and prescriptive authority defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
  • Two (2) years' work experience as a RN required.
  • Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with the chronically mentally ill and experience with a broad spectrum of diagnosis and medication management.
