Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to work in our Wound Care department, supporting both outpatient and inpatient services. The APRN will work on prevention and treatment of pressure injuries (PI), management of complex wounds (medical, surgical, podiatric), inpatient consults and outpatient follow-up, and education and prevention strategies. Schedule: M-F, days no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call The APRN Certified Nurse Practitioner reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all regulatory and accreditation standards. The APRN Certified Nurse Practitioner is a licensed registered nurse (RN) and therefore can perform all functions that are within the scope of an RN License. In addition, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse must have a current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License and have earned a masters or doctoral degree in a specialized area of nursing. The licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse functions autonomously in a specialized area of nursing and collaborates with other health care professionals to provide direct care that is comprehensive, reflects advanced knowledge, clinical expertise and is evidenced based on current research and practice.
