About The Position

Chenega Supply Chain Solutions (CSCS) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), specifically within the Health Systems Bureau (HSB) and its Health Research Services Administration (HRSA), for the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). This is a part-time, temporary 1099 position for 10 weeks, with a maximum of 360 hours, and potential for conversion to full-time employment based on performance. The role involves reviewing medical records and composing medical-legal reports according to CICP guidelines. A training period will be provided to ensure effective integration of feedback and high-quality report generation. The work location is remote.

Requirements

  • A graduate or higher-level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse and Advance Practice Registered Nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must have recent clinical experience of more than 5 years.
  • Must have strong technical writing skills.
  • Must have experience working with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Must reside in the U.S. and be eligible to undergo a government security clearance investigation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in claims review or related fields preferred.
  • Experience in medical writing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Contract Medical Reviewer (CMR) who writes medical eligibility determination recommendations via a medical report in alignment with the Government provided training and instruction.
  • Apply training instructions to complete reports using the provided template, with the first 5 reports undergoing editing and comprehensive review, and feedback expected to be applied to subsequent reports for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver a minimum of 10 edited and finalized reports.
  • At no point should the consultant engage in direct and/or unsupervised conversations with the client, Contracting Officer's Representative, or Contracting Officer. Violation of this stipulation will result in termination of the agreement.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of all work provided in medical report writing.
  • Work closely with the Team Lead, physicians, and nurse practitioners.
  • Support reviewing and recommending project wide communication, data, administration, and management related enhancements of the CICP program.
  • Help develop project related products and processes that enable the inspiring, innovative, and effective oversight of the contract performance, quality, and consistency.
  • Work closely with the assigned Team Lead to support the development, submission, and approval of medical review reports.
  • Participate in the development and execution of appropriate Risk Management processes and procedures, which contribute to the mitigation and elimination of program risks, problems, and concerns, before and/or as they arise.
