Medical - SC - Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
Thundermist's Mission: To improve the health of our patients and communities by delivering exceptional health care, removing barriers to that care, and advancing healthy lifestyles. The faculty nurse practitioner is responsible for providing primary medical care, within the limits of the training of a nurse practitioner, to assigned patients. The nurse practitioner is a licensed, autonomous provider executing professional clinical judgment in the care of Thundermist patients, according to the guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by Thundermist Health Center.
Requirements
- RI RN and NPP Licensure
- ANA Certification in the specialty of practice (family medicine, internal medicine, women’s health, or pediatrics)
- Ongoing CEU to update skills/therapies
- Exceptional oral and written skills needed.
- Proficient in all applicable medical terminology.
- Good interpersonal skills are needed.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual capacity in Spanish or Laotian is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Patient care – history, physical exam, anticipatory education/guidance in pediatrics, management of acute and chronic illness
- Maintenance of complete/accurate patient records
- Accountable for patient care provided and supervision of nurse practitioner students assigned
- Peer chart review on rotating basis
- Participation in departmental, and team meetings.
