About The Position

Primary functions are to assist in overseeing the clinical care and treatment of patients and families; to consult with the patients' attending physician, in consultation with the palliative physician; provide clinical direction to the Interdisciplinary Group to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • Gradate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
  • Current State license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Current Driver's License
  • Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology, palliative care, and end-of-life.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid auto liability insurance.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients.
  • Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs; and to make quick decisions and resource acquisition; meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience as an APN in a clinical care setting preferred, hospice or home health preferred.
