About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality clinical care across weekend shifts in Richmond, VA. This role is ideal for a clinician who values autonomy, collaboration, and patient-centred care within post-acute and long-term care environments.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted Virginia NP licence and current DEA registration
  • Current certifications as required by role (e.g., BLS) and facility policies
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently during weekend shifts
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach and ability to build professional relationships with multidisciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in post-acute care, long-term care, geriatrics, or related settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive medical care to residents in post-acute, long-term care, and assisted living settings during weekend coverage
  • Perform thorough assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescribe medications and manage medication adjustments within scope of practice and state regulations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and coordinate follow-up care with specialists and primary teams as required
  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, therapists, and other allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in care planning, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide clear communication to families and facility staff regarding clinical status and care plans
