PRN Nurse Practitioner In and Out Urgent Care has current openings for PRN Nurse Practitioners at our Uptown/Metairie, and Covington/Mandeville locations. Must be able to work at multiple locations as needed. The Nurse Practitioner reports directly to the Lead NP at each location. Must be able to take 12 Hour Shifts. 7a-7p and 8a-8p weekdays PRN Nurse Practitioner – Job description, but not limited to: The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with designated physicians and healthcare team members to provide medical care to patients in the Urgent Care Center. Responsibilities include delivering the highest standard of care in the diagnosis and management of a respective population and participating in the implementation of patient education and clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum. The ideal candidate must be a team player, excellent communicator, proactive, and must also possess the ability to manage time and stress effectively as it pertains to patient care settings. Job Duties: Follows established guidelines which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent Select, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses Documents orders in the EMR (Docutap)system for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for the plan of care, in collaboration with supervising manager Oversees directs and supports on-site laboratory, x-rays, and injections, helps if needed Interpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood work, radiology, EKG, in collaboration with supervising physician. Perform such procedures as incision and drainage of abscesses, simple orthopedic splinting, pelvic exams and suturing of skin lacerations Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.
