About The Position

Johnson Venture Management Solutions, Inc. (JVM Solutions) is recruiting Nurse Practitioners to provide advanced clinical care to law enforcement trainees and FLETC staff at Artesia, NM FLETC Health Unit sites. NPs serve on the Emergency Medical Response Team, perform Health Screenings, conduct occupational medicine evaluations, prescribe from the Government formulary, and may serve as the acting physician during authorized short absences.

Requirements

  • Graduate with baccalaureate (Might need to be a Masters) or higher from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited NP program; international graduates must hold current, full, active, unrestricted state NP license
  • Current, valid, full, active, and unencumbered NP license in the state of the assigned site
  • Valid, current DEA number
  • Minimum one (1) year of healthcare field experience including urgent care within the last three (3) years
  • Professional liability insurance with no less than $1 million per claim and $3 million aggregate
  • Tail coverage for minimum three (3) years following end of the contract
  • Current AHA ACLS certification (required for Emergency Medical Response Team positions)
  • Current AHA BLS Provider certification
  • Proficiency in EMR documentation and SOAP note format
  • U.S. Citizen or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence; DHS background investigation required

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) experience or certification
  • Prior federal law enforcement or military healthcare experience
  • CAOHC certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent care, emergency response, and occupational health services to law enforcement trainees and FLETC staff
  • Serve as a core member of the Emergency Medical Response Team with current ACLS certification; respond to on-campus emergencies and run the code until EMS arrives
  • Conduct individual student Health Screenings within the scheduled one-hour time period
  • Perform Medical Surveillance Program (MSP) evaluations under physician oversight
  • Prescribe from the Government-approved formulary (Technical Exhibit 4); document all medications accurately
  • Document all clinical encounters in the SASS EMR in accepted SOAP note format
  • Provide and document medical restriction recommendations
  • Coordinate patient referrals; ensure records uploaded to EMR within 5 business days
  • Complete AMA forms when patients decline recommended care
  • Notify COR and CMO within required timeframes for emergency transports, restrictions exceeding 3 training days, and serious illness or injury
  • Administer vaccines per CDC guidelines and CMO direction; document acceptance or declination in EMR
  • Support pandemic response, Medical Countermeasure drills, and OSHA recordkeeping as required
