WVU Medicine: Wheeling Hospital's Critical Care and Trauma Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner- Trauma Services! The Nurse Practitioner has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of trauma medicine patients (including biological, social and psychological assessments). They will possess specialized skills in the care of patients and families undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. The NP coordinates involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient and reviews the plan of care with the other members of the clinical team, participates in directing that care. The provider will work with the team to ensure adherence to protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines. They will perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and coordinates discharge planning to the next level of care (as applicable). The NP will participate in the education of residents and medical/nursing students. This position will also be responsible for responding to rapid response alerts. In this capacity, the NP would assess and initiate care for the critically ill patient in the activation. Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and the requirements of the professional licensing or certification authority and/or hospital privileges, where applicable.
